Keto Update

So lets be honest I fell off the keto wagon and got on so many times I've lost count. Last week I did keto for 5/6 days and then cheated! Damn weekends always have so many temptations for me. However, I have noticed if I start the day with a bulletproof coffee or a coffee with zero sugar it starts the day off well for me and then rest of the day I have an easier time staying on track. Because for me sugar less coffee is the ultimate sacrifice and I can not stand any artificial sweeteners in my coffee and yes I have tried them all. If I add one teaspoon of sugar I feel less dedicated and spend the rest of the day cheating. This is what I'm dealing with here, SMH.

- In 5 days I went from 177 lbs. to 171 lbs. Probably water weight, but it gets rid of bloating in the stomach area quickly.

- No sugar = less inflammation which is great for reducing rosacea and acne and muscle pain etc.

- Once your officially in Ketosis the cravings and appetite subside substantially.

New to Keto

Its been YEARS literally since I've posted anything on here, I apologize for that, but life has been crazy busy with lots of changes.

I started keto on Dec 31, 2018 and I had  been doing Keto for two months successfully. I think I had some minor cheats in that time, but I got right back into it after each cheat, it was going great, I was really enjoying it. I even bought a Keto Mojo blood test monitor to track my ketone levels which was very interesting and I highly suggest getting one if your serious about tracking your into Ketone levels. If you don't feel comfortable doing the blood tests, then there are other signs like extreme thirst, stinky urine, smellier breath (I didn't experience this much as I drank so much water I couldn't tell.), loss of appetite, and other things.

I lost 14 lbs. Started at 184 lbs and then got down to 170/168 lbs. I was also working out a bit so my weight would fluctuate.

Fruit or Vegetables for Your Next Snack?

It has been a LONG time since I last posted! Since being pregnant I've had one baby and managed to get back to my pre-pregnany weight (WOOHOO!), now I am all into toning through full-body workouts, cardio and eating clean! (Me recently in photo above doing a stretch next to my new spin bike!)

Lately all over instagram I see all these fitness pages with pictures of fruit and NO veggies! A little fruit is good of course, but we must eat veggies daily as well. For example, in the morning usually I eat half a banana because they are high in sugar, but I eat as much veggies as I want. When your in my position and trying to loose those last stubborn ten lbs. cutting any unnecessary sugar can make a difference in your caloric intake for the day! Plus the rainbow of vegetables provides essential antioxidants such as vitamins A and C and minerals such as selenium, which fight free radicals that can cause cell damage.

Getting Back Into Fitness

On July 3rd, 2013 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy via C-Section. I spent the first 8+ weeks healing and recovering from the surgery. 11 months later life is still busy of course, but also filled with memories and challenges of all kinds. 
One of those challenges being getting my body back into shape and loosing the baby weight. Since giving birth I have managed to loose 45 Lbs and I am now back to my original post baby weight. We purchased a SpinFit spin bike and I've been going for lots of walks and some jogs, trying to squeeze in as much active time as I can, while also attempting to get some down time to myself, to knit or to do absolutely nothing.

Pregnant Girl Food

Not that I wouldn't eat this food when I'm not pregnant, but I feel it is extra important to get a variety of nutrients for breakfast after a whole night of fasting. Breakfast = BREAK fast, like break the fast! Get it ! I didn't realize that until recently.

I got my chia seeds (fiber), cottage cheese (protein) on whole grain toast (some more fiber!!), some fruit (carbs and vitamins), and my vitamins! Usually I try not to eat to much fruit and more veggies, but with the baby I can splurge a little! Yes I eat kiwi's with the skin on, but its good fiber and has more nutrients (sort of like an apple the good stuff is in the skin), plus it's super sour and I love it!

On the Search for the Best Pregancy Workout DVD

I read a few reviews online and looked all over Amazon trying to find the best pregnancy workout DVD and finally stumbled upon the Summer Sanders Prenatal Workout. Many of the other workout DVD reviews mentioned that the workouts were too easy and I wanted a DVD that was somewhere in the middle.

I had stopped working out after I found out I was pregnant because I started working a lot, I was back to college full-time and I was so exhausted in the first trimester. So I wanted a DVD I could start doing twice a week or more and feel like I got a good light workout to help my transition back into fitness once I have the baby.

I finally decided on this DVD because I read good reviews on it and it looked modern and upbeat.

Here are my thoughts:
